Your dream winter wardrobe, with a hint of drama thrown in for good measure.

Season 3 of The Traitors finished in January – can you believe we’ve been without our favourite treacherous gameshow for so long? With hauntingly good tension, unique twists and turns and laugh/gasp/shout-out-loud games, it’s deliciously addictive stuff. Fans of the show don’t have long to wait for their next fix, as The Celebrity Traitors is due to hit screens in just a couple of weeks, with an all-star cast sure to delight viewers (and we mean all-star as Tom Daley and Steven Fry are in the cast). As well as the heart-thumping round table scenes and unbearable cliffhangers, one thing we haven’t been able to peel our eyes away from is Claudia Winkleman’s iconic style, and luckily, our favourite host is returning for the new season.
Working with her stylist, Sinead McKeefry, Winkleman has excited something of a national furore with her ‘haute country’ outfits, which viewers shopped in their thousands while watching the show. You’ll often find Winkleman marrying The Kooples and Burberry with ME+EM, Zara and Holland Cooper, and while there’s always heaps of glorious cashmere (most of it from Brora), there are also floor-sweeping coats, knits sourced from the menswear department and, of course, many pairs of Hunter wellies thrown in the mix too. There’s also always major support for independent brands, particularly when it comes to some of the most Googled knitwear pieces from the three seasons, like the balloon-sleeve jumper from Mr Mittens and chunky scarf knitted by independent label Rose & Wül.

McKeefry and Winkleman have developed a very clever formula; Winkleman’s ensembles feel entirely relatable and yet, thanks to the canny integration of fashion-forward and luxury labels, remain aspirational, too. Think Saint Laurent velvet blazers paired with Spanx leggings and Winkleman’s favourite Dr. Martens, which she has described as ‘the best boot of all time’. Ultimately, it’s gothic glam meets power dressing, and we can’t get enough of it.
McKeefry told us that since the first series of the show, she’s had ‘friends in retail saying people are coming in and asking for ‘Claudia in The Traitors look’, and my friends in the fashion crowd have been loving it, too.’ The stylist said she and Winkleman had a clear vision: ‘I think because [Claudia and I] enjoyed being back in the process, we had our inspirations and knew what our look wanted to be… Ronnie Corbett meets Princess Anne meets Madonna (in the Guy Ritchie days!)’

As we wait for The Celebrity Traitors to return to our screens, let’s take a look back at some of our favourite Winkleman’s sartorial hits from season three, as many are still available to shop. From faux fur coats to her masterclass in layering – think sharp tailoring, structured blazers and heaps of cashmere with the kind of polish only Winkleman can pull off – every outfit delivers. Shop the exact outfits and alternatives below.
When is The Traitors back on TV?
The Celebrity Traitors will launch on Wednesday, 8th October at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The first look
In the very first glimpse we have of The Celebrity Traitors, host Claudia Winkleman is seen in a sharp Ralph Lauren tweed suit. The tailored look matches the show’s moody vibe perfectly, and wouldn’t look out of place in a castle in the Scottish Highlands. Funny that.

In the very first look for the latest season of The Traitors, Winkleman is spotted wearing this exact Ralph Lauren tartan suit – a look that’s incredibly apt for its Scottish Highlands setting.

To go with the Ralph Lauren tweed blazer, Winkleman is also seen in the matching trousers, that are also made from insulating checked wool-flannel. Wear with the matching blazer, or on its own with a boxy t-shirt and chunky loafers.

The black velvet blazer and leggings
For the grand finale of The Traitors, Winkleman went for her trusty Saint Laurent velvet blazer layered over the top of a silk shirt from The Kooples. Of course, Winkleman couldn’t go into the final without a pair of her trusty Spanx leggings, and she wore them with Saint Laurent suede ankle boots.

The exact silk shirt Winkleman wore to the final round table is this one from The Kooples.

An integral part of her The Traitors wardrobe, Winkleman has worn these Spanx leggings multiple times throughout each season of the show.
For Winkleman, nothing beats a Saint Laurent blazer, particularly a velvet one. This one is tailored for a slim fit, with sharp lapels and padded shoulders.

Winkleman’s favourite Saint Laurent boots feature ribbed elastic side panels, a pointed toe and a thick, stacked heel.
The check jumper and khaki jeans
Winkleman perhaps saved one of her best looks until the last episode of season three, styling an old Burberry green and yellow check turtleneck with a pair of sculpting Holland Cooper jeans and brown boots.

Price: $763 (was £1,090)
As Winkleman’s turtleneck is out of stock, here’s an option that’s in stock and is of a similar print. The cream version is almost more wearable too, as it can be styled with a pair of earthy-toned wide-leg trousers or dark denim jeans.
Exact match
Winkleman has already worn jeans from Holland Cooper once, but a different style is back for the final styled alongside a Burberry jumper. These jeans are designed to sit high on the waist, which is why they look best when paired with a high-neck top or knit.
Exact match
The exact boots Winkleman wore to the final breakfast are a pair from Church’s, which have a rounded toe, high-shine finish and smooth upper, a nod to its equestrian past.
The grey kilt and jumper
A sucker for a kilt while she’s filming The Traitors, Winkleman wore a grey number from Le Kilt, a brand she loves. She paired it with a charcoal grey jumper from Johnstons of Elgin and Brora wristwarmers in the shade iris.

The Midi Kilt is a take on the traditional Scottish kilt, except with classic Le Kilt signature detailing, like the four black leather buckles on the sides, pleats on the front and back, and a silver kilt pin on the bottom. Her original checked kilt is sold out, but we’ve linked the black version below.

Winkleman wore another great pair of wristwarmers, this time in the colour iris. Made in one of the oldest mills in Scotland and crafted using the softest cashmere, this pair of wristwarmers is especially great value as it’s now on sale for under £50.

Styled with the show-stopping kilt was yet another cashmere jumper from Johnstons of Elgin. Winkleman wore the Slub Crew Neck, but as it’s sold out, we’ve linked an alternative from the brand below.
Exact match
Winkleman wore these exact boots from Bottega Veneta. A style from the brand’s autumn/winter 2022 show, the knee-high boots feature just the right amount of slouch, and of course, a soft leather finish. However – there’s only a couple of sizes available so be sure to act fast.
The longline tweed blazer
Sticking to one of her favourite combos, Winkleman wore a tweed blazer over a white shirt and her beloved black leggings. The blazer, from The Kooples, is happily on sale now – you’ll need to have skills to rival the traitors, however, in order to buy it before it sells out…

This tweed blazer will prove to be a hard-working piece in any wardrobe. Copy Claudia and wear over black trousers and a white shirt with boots or, alternatively, add some polish to weekend outfits by pairing with jeans and loafers.
The red fingerless gloves
The red gloves are back and honestly, we’re so happy to see their return. During last season McKeefry was inundated with messages asking where on earth she got a pair of red leather fingerless gloves from – because clearly, its just that good. What might surprise you, however, is the fact these in-demand gloves are from Amazon, and retail for under £25.

Winkleman’s stylist, Sinead McKeefry, confirmed last season that the cult fingerless gloves she dons are in fact, from Amazon. This pair looks identical to the style worn by Winkleman.
The Fair Isle jumper and kilt skirt
Winkleman wore a black Fair Isle jumper from Brora, complete with fingerless grey gloves and black kilt skirt. The latter is from Le Kilt, a brand she wore last season, too, and it’s still in stock. For how long, though, is anybody’s guess.

The exact jumper Winkleman wore is this one from Brora, a firm favourite of hers. A design that has roots in the remote Shetland island of Fair Isle, the print has now been reinvented with fresh shapes and colours. The blue version is no longer available, but the brand has the same jumper in black.

Winkleman’s exact kilt is this one from Le Kilt, which is made from 100% wool and is also handcrafted in Scotland. The Midi Kilt is pleated on both the front and back, with black leather buckles on the side for fastening, and is of course finished with a silver kilt pin.
The red satin shirt
Not one to shy away from textures, Winkleman opted for a crimson satin shirt that delivered an unapologetic pop of colour. She paired the bright shirt with patterned purple trousers from Niu.

The Cherry Shirt from Wolf & Badger has a loose fit that’s made from high silky viscose. To style for the day, take notes from Winkleman and pair with wide-leg trousers, or for the evening try with jeans and heels.
This pair of wide-leg trousers from Etro are similar to the style worn by Winkleman (as her exact trousers are now sold out), with sweeping wide legs and a navy jacquard pattern.
The faux-fur coat and boots
We can probably all agree that one of the standout moments was Winkleman wearing an enormous longline fringe coat from Saint Laurent. Taking inspiration from that masterpiece, this season Winkleman channels the same energy in Raey’s Collared Shearling Wool-Blend Maxi Coat, paired with Chanel boots.
©BBC/Studio Lambert
A staple in any boho (or Scottish Highland apparently) wardrobe, this coat has similar long sleeves, split side pockets and of course that ragged vintage fur feel. Let the coat be the outfit and keep accessories minimal when styling.
What’s the first thing that sprung to Winkleman’s/Sinead McKeefry’s mind when styling faux fur? More faux fur, of course. To go with said sweeping fur coat, they chose a pair of Chanel faux fur boots that aren’t too dissimilar from this Free People style. Make sure not to wear them in the rain, however.
The statement cardigan
This statement cardi added a dash of drama to one of Winkleman’s looks from season three. Layered over an on-trend sheer shirt, she showed us how to wear the translucent trend without being freezing cold (or nearly naked). Plus, of course, another great pair of black boots were thrown on for good measure.

The exact cardigan Winkleman is wearing is now sold out, but the brand does have this similar style still in stock.

Through using her budget wisely, McKeefry told us how she was able to buy these black Bottega boots. Money well spent, I would say.
A lesson in layering
Winkleman not only nails countryside chic, but also gives a lesson in layering with this perfect outfit. She wore a houndstooth coat from Johnstons of Elgin (now sold out) over a full look from Purdey, which included the brand’s twill trousers, a knitted tank and a lace stand collar shirt. Naturally, she paired all of this with her trusty wellies, giving us serious inspiration for our next country walk.

One of the best things about McKeefry’s picks for Winkleman is that she finds simple pieces with stand-out details, like this white shirt from Purdey with its elevated lace collar.
Exact match
Another great piece of knitwear, this cotton cashmere tank sits perfectly over crisp shirts, creating the perfect smart/casual contrast.

Winkleman’s trousers are designed to wear with boots, making them the perfect choice for anything outdoors in the winter.

Every good countryside outfit isn’t complete without a pair of classic Hunter wellies. This pair is just like Winkleman’s.
The rose motif jumper
Winkleman has truly nailed the ‘casual but cool’ brief and this outfit proves exactly that. The rose-printed jumper is from the men’s section of Barrie. Winkleman is becoming quite accustomed to shopping in the male section, and we ought to take a lesson or two. With the jumper she wears a pair of brown corduroy trousers from Connolly (which are now sold out) and boots.

This jumper from Barrie is described as ‘a stylish and comfortable approach to summer’, although we think it would look just as great layered in the winter too. Emblazoned with multiple red roses and made out of a cosy cashmere, the jumper is as comfortable as it is avant-garde.
