Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Several beloved events are returning, like a stop on the Dancing with the Stars: Live! Tour bringing the hit TV show’s energizing dance moves to Augusta; the Augusta Home and Garden Show with all of its gifts and decorator inspirations and the Battle of Aiken, which brings a momentous Civil War-era event back to life. Here are some more details on these and other upcoming Augusta-area festivities:

Dancing with the Stars: Live

The glitz and glamor of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” is on tour, and is stopping at the Bell Auditorium on Telfair Street at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25. Guests will see ballroom dancing from special guests like country musician Jimmie Allen, “The Talk” co-host Amanda Kloots and mirror ball champions like “The Bachelorette” of season 11 Kaitlyn Bristowe and NBA player Iman Shumpert.

Augusta Home and Garden Show

The 17th annual Home and Garden Show will be at the Augusta Convention Center on Reynolds Street from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Several vendors will be in attendance, offering merchandise, tips and inspiration for home improvement and outdoor living in addition to giveaways and family-fun activities. Augusta's Black History Parade honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26.

Black History Month events

Augusta’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade, which was postponed in January out of COVID-19 concerns is rescheduled for Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “When We Fight, We Win.” The parade starts at the Dyess Park Community Center, 902 James Brown Blvd. The route proceeds south on James Brown Boulevard to Wrightsboro Road, north on Augusta Avenue, east on Laney-Walker Boulevard then north on 11th Street before concluding on D’Antignac Street.
