How to Draw Curly Male Hair
In this first step of our tutorial on how to draw curly male hair, we’ll start with the outline of the hair itself. To do this, we’ll create a curved line with many bumps.
These lines form the sides and top of the hair. You can also start by drawing a circle shape with a pencil where the face will be to reference where the hair will go.
If you are happy with the look, you can move on to the next step!
For this second step of your curly male hair, we will add the outline of the face and complete the inner outline of the hair.
First, use a rounded line with a chin point at the bottom to create the bottom.
Once you’ve drawn that lower part of the face, you can extend the frayed line you used for the top and side hair to the inside of the head.
With that, the pattern is complete, and in the next few steps, we will add some additional details and detailing.
We have the outlines of the face and head, and in this part of our curly male hair drawing guide, we will add the ears and shoulders.
The ears are drawn as oval shapes on the side of the head where the hair attaches to the face. You can then add rounded lines inside the ears to show their internal structure.
Once done with the ears, you can draw more rounded shapes under the chin. This will help shape the boy’s neck and also the collar of his shirt.
Finally, for this step, carefully draw some straight lines down from the neck to form the shoulders and the sides of the chest.
This curly male hair design is already taking shape! In this part, you will draw the boy’s face and arms before proceeding to the final details.
First, use ovals for the eyes and smaller dots for the pupils. Then, with a few simple lines, you can draw the boy’s eyebrows, nose, and mouth.
Once you’re happy with the face, you can use straighter lines to draw the sleeves of his shirt. To finish, you can pull your arms out of the sleeves.
This fifth step of our curly male hair drawing guide is adding the final details before coloring.
These details are mostly within the hairline and help it look nice and curly.
These details in the hair are drawn with many small, connected, curved lines.
Once you’ve added those details, you’re ready for the next step! You can also add as many details as you like before moving.
You could change the boy’s facial expression for an idea or put a cool drawing on his shirt. You can also enlarge or reduce the outline of her hair as per your desire.
These are just a few ideas you could try, but there are many more you could implement!
