Pipe Pressure Loss Calculator is a scientific application designed to calculate friction pressure loss.
Flow of fluid in pipe causes decrease in fluid’s energy level aka head loss, this is due to friction caused in between the fluid and inner surface of the pipe. This energy level decrease shows up as pressure loss in fluid. beside friction there are other causes for loss too but the major cause remains the friction. There are many methods for computing pressure loss caused by friction including Formulas, Equations, Charts and Tables. Input parameters of these method are mostly the same and by having some certain properties of fluid and pipe we can use any of these methods to compute head loss. Results of different methods are sometimes very close and sometimes very distant] for different input parameters. Pipe Pressure Loss Calculator computes the head loss using all these methods and shows the results in a list, calculates the average and standard deviation of the results and calculates statistical average after removing results that their distance from the average is more than standard deviation.

The software is a simulation of flow of any fluid (usually water) in pipe(s) and it helps engineers and scientists to compute and analyze the head loss. It not only shows the head loss in terms of pounds per foot or meters per second, but also give the statistical average of the results and also compute the standard deviation of the results.
Averaging process: The average of the results of different methods is computed using statistical average. It first finds the average of the results of each method for each input parameter and then computes the average of these averages.
Standard Deviation Calculation: To find the standard deviation of the results of different methods, first it finds the average of the results of each method for each input parameter and then it computes its standard deviation.
First Method Chart: The average of the results of different methods are plotted on a chart for each input parameter using a Normal distribution chart with standard deviation equal to its average.
Second Method Chart: Like the previous method, but in this method for each input parameter chart, an error of standard deviation = 1 × average of the results of each method is plotted.
Auto Selection: By having some properties of fluid (density and viscosity) and pipe size (thickness and diameter) we can use this software to select the method for pressure loss calculation.
