Every band can be set up to process stereo, L , R or (M)id and (S)ide channels. Processing the mid or side information can be very useful in certain situations. In mastering for example, it allows you to enhance a centered vocal while leaving the other instruments untouched. Or to center a bass without losing the stereo imaging of the rest. Adjustment of is made easy because the SNEQ allows for monitoring the LR or MS channels.
The aim was to create a minimum phase equalizer with filters that match the response of their analog counterparts over the entire frequency range. Most digital eq’s suffer from the so called pre-warping effect. This is an unwanted effect that occurs when translating an analog transfer function (the S-domain) mathematically to the digital domain (=z-domain).

The Sonoris Equalizer uses a minimum phase approach to correcting phase problems, and is based on the work of Marcus Webb. The band minimum phase high pass and low pass filters work similarly to the analog counterparts. They correct the phase of signals below a specified frequency threshold and above a specified frequency threshold, respectively.
The real part of the z-domain transfer functions is odd-symmetric while the imaginary part is even-symmetric. As a result, you can filter an sine source with an odd-symmetric minimum phase filter with an even-symmetric pass-band and stopband. This is mathematically speaking not possible with the more common all-pass-filter approach to audio processing.
One major difference between Sonoris Equalizer and the original Marcus Webb approach lies in the overall transfer function. The original approach uses linear phase, whereas the Sonoris Equalizer uses an exponential transfer function. This exponential approach is usually not directly suited for audio processing (linear-phase-approach). I created the Sonoris Equalizer to make it work, as it sounds great for mastering and mixing.
