Installation and use of the application entails several steps. At the first stage, the user is supposed to make a data preparation, which includes defining the size of the grid, the body shapes and the different physical parameters. In the second step, the user is expected to launch the application and determine the number of bodies to be considered.
During the data preparation, the user is required to define the positions of bodies and to specify physical parameters, such as the density, the reference velocity of wave bodies and the wave-to-body interaction coefficients.

The application is based on a grid mesh. The number of nodes in the mesh and the type of mesh (trilinear or quadrilateral) will depend on the number of bodies to be considered for a single wave run and can be determined in the setup procedure. As a result, the calculation speed can be increased or the types of analysis can be enhanced by modifying the number of calculations to be performed.
The user can modify the physical parameters such as the density of the body or the reference velocity and specify the wavemaker position and/or the wavemaker nature (synchronous or asynchronous).
As it is known, the interaction coefficients depend on the frequency and the number of the wavemaker(s) according to the boundary conditions or the nature of the wavemaker. If the wavemaker is the solitary wave, the coefficients are independent of the body. On the other hand, if there are several waves, the coefficients are connected with the number of wavemakers.
To simplify the setup procedure, an algorithm is implemented that determines the interaction coefficients from the considered number of waves. The user can enter only two values in the setup procedure, the number of waves that should be allowed and the interaction coefficients that should be used in the program. In addition, the coefficients themselves can be changed by the user before the run.
WAMIT setup procedure consists of two major steps: importing the data and defining the different physical parameters. These two procedures can be performed separately at any time.
In the import step, the user is expected to define the number of wavemakers, the number of bodies to be analyzed, the reference velocity of the body and the wavemaker locations. Once these parameters are specified, the user is allowed to modify the wavemaker and body physical parameters to be considered or to input their values.
