Erika Jayne Details “Budget” House Renovation: Exclusive Pics

Erika Jayne is making some major changes to her home on Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and in the video above, she shared new details on doing a renovation while managing her finances.

“We knew we wanted to do some renovations, but we’re on a budget,” Erika says in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 After Show video above. “I have no problem saying that because I lived many years not on a budget. Well, yes, there was a budget, but it was bigger. Now it’s smaller, but that’s okay because it’s all mine.”

As RHOBH viewers now know, Erika tuned to Martyn Lawrence Bullard to transform her home. “I looked online at several interior designers and Martyn’s style spoke to me, and there was no chance that this man was going to do this,” she said in the clip. “Like, zero chance.”

However, Erika was pleasantly surprised when she “reached out and the answer was, ‘Yes.'”

“I was blown away. I still kind of am,” she declared. “I love what we did…We just knocked this house out and it was great.”

Martyn transformed Erika’s home with new furniture and decor. In a recent interview with The Daily Dish, Erika shared, “I would say it’s sexy. I’d say it’s a nod to Art Deco but it’s also, you know, it’s very Hollywood.”

Erika Jayne reflects on the significance of her home renovation

In a confessional on RHOBH, Erika opened up about just how significant the changes were to her.

“I’ve been under a microscope since the day since the day I left Tom,” she explained, “Financially, socially, emotionally. I couldn’t have done anything right. So God forbid I spend anything I make!”

When the performer was feeling more confident, and less concerned with what people might say, she was ready to take on the challenge of making the space her own.

“I’ve always loved this little house, but the energy has changed so much,” Erika told Dorit. “Like, this is huge for me.”

Continuing, Erika revealed just how much she needed the change. “After four to almost five years of hell, I’m excited about life again, and I feel really good about that,” Erika said, adding “Because that’s a signal to myself that you’re returning back to normal. You’re getting there. You’re slowly making your way back to a place that you recognize.”

In her recent interview with The Daily Dish, Erika opened up about how her therapist inspired her to make the changes.

“Dr. Jenn Mann and I spoke about it before, you know, I see her once a week. She was like, ‘Listen, Erika…You’ve done all this work on yourself. You’ve pulled yourself together. It’s time that your home reflects that back out to you, that you feel comfortable where you’re living,” she shared. “It’s very interesting ‘cause when she said, ‘You gotta let that furniture go. It’s an old life,’ I was like, ‘It doesn’t mean anything.’ She goes, ‘It does,’ and she was right.”

“As soon as the furniture went, there was this lightness about myself and just the energy in the home,” Erika continued. “I think there’s a lotta sadness and a lot of just heartache that came along with the old things. [I thought] Well, that was all I had, so we had to stick with it. I mean, like, I had to get it together before I could get new things.”
