While fall might not technically start for another week, we’re already noticing all the telltale signs of the season. There’s a chill in the air on our morning walks, the first leaves are beginning to turn and here in New York, the Fashion Week festivities are well underway. From designer runways to the city’s streets, we’re already spotting a ton of trends — and taking notes on how to incorporate them into our wardrobes for fall.

Fall is the time to restock your basics. These are great on their own or as a base layer you can throw a cardigan, vest or jacket over. Garcia says these t-shirts are lightweight but not sheer, with a cotton modal blend that’s super soft and holds up well after multiple washes. These packs of two come out to less than $7 a shirt, and with over 50,000 Amazon customer ratings, they’re flying off the virtual shelves right now.
Never underestimate the power of a really good belt. The wardrobe staple and style hack pairs with everything from jeans, skirts and trousers to dresses and blazers to give some structure to a looser silhouette. I love that this under-$20 pick comes in a ton of faux leather shades and finishes (I personally own it in the brown suede color) and has both silver- and gold-toned hardware options to match your go-to jewelry.
Slouchy bucket bags have been everywhere in recent years — Garcia vouches that she’s seen designer brands that look just like this, with price tags in the thousands. Thankfully, we found a soft, vegan leather version that won’t blow your budget. This surprisingly roomy drawstring bucket bag can be worn as a crossbody, shoulder bag or clutch, transitioning seamlessly from day to night.
“This is the type of bag that you will get stopped for — people will want to know where you got it,” adds Garcia.
“Utility jackets are the perfect transitional light layer,” Garcia says. “I love it paired with jeans or with a maxi skirt!”

For busy mornings, travel and beyond, we love a bottom that you can just pull on and go. These from Gap fit the bill, with a sweatpants-like feel but a way more elevated look. There are no buttons, zippers or snaps to fuss with, and Garcia suggests styling it with anything from a t-shirt to an oversized blazer. You can choose from a few colors, and sizes go up to XXL in regular, petite and tall cuts.

“Polo caps are the ultimate cool girl accessory,” Garcia muses. “They’re being paired with everything from casual to more elevated looks, with oversized blazers and slacks, for that ‘off duty model’ look.”
Reviewers say this hat looks more expensive than it actually is, with an adjustable strap that gives it a perfect fit and a ton of colors to choose from.
Bag charms have been trending for a year, and if the Labubu craze is any indication, the trend doesn’t show any sign of stopping soon. An initial charm like this is a chic way to personalize your bag that’s not as in-your-face as a plush toy.
No fall ‘fit is complete without the perfect denim jacket. This trendy style features eye-catching pleating down the front along with a few stylish chest pockets and an oversized fit every body shape will look fantastic in.
