Online furniture retailer Wayfair will open a brick-and-mortar store in Columbus next year.
The home-goods giant announced Nov. 6 that it will unveil its first Ohio store in Columbus next year, bringing its signature mix of furniture, decor and design services to Polaris.
The new 70,000-square-foot store at 1552 Gemini Place, adjacent to the Polaris mall, is slated to open in late 2026, according to a press release by Wayfair Inc.
Calling Columbus “one of the Midwest’s fastest-growing metros,” Wayfair said the Polaris site will serve as a smaller-format test model for its growing retail strategy.
“As we scale our retail strategy, we are focused on both expansion and experimentation,” said Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores at Wayfair. “Not only are we thrilled to open our first Ohio store, we are excited to see how customers respond to our efforts to provide a comprehensive home shopping experience in a smaller footprint.”
Wayfair’s first physical store opened in Wilmette, Illinois, in 2024, and additional locations are expected to follow in Atlanta; Yonkers, New York and Denver. The expansion marks a major push by the predominantly online brand to grow its in-person retail presence.
